Privacy notice

Who we are
This notice explains how AM DevOps Limited ("we") handles personal data collected through this website, meiyam.com. AM DevOps Limited is the controller of that data. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 09165258, and our registered office is 19 Robertson Close, Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes, MK5 6EB, United Kingdom.
Questions about this notice or your data go to privacy@meiyam.com.
This notice covers the website only. The Meiyam product, including app sign-up and the data customers connect to it, is covered by its own privacy policy and data processing agreement.
What we collect
When you register interest, we collect:
- your work email address and company name (required);
- your name, role and company size, if you give them;
- the tools and frameworks you select, if any;
- whether you ticked the box to receive product news;
- the page you submitted the form from, and the date and time of each submission.
We need your work email address and company name to register you. The other details you can give are optional.
When you visit the site, we use your IP address and the details of each request to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. AWS, our hosting provider, processes them for us.
When you open the register-interest page or submit the form, we use AWS WAF, a firewall service from AWS, to run a silent check that your browser is a browser and not an automated program. The check reads signals from the browser, such as whether it is being driven by automation; it does not identify you.
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to record the pages you view, the page or site that sent you here, and the date and time of each visit. It also records your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and an approximate location, such as your country and city, worked out from your IP address. It records whether you scroll to the end of a page, the links you follow to other sites, and that a register-interest submission succeeded, but nothing you entered in the form. A random number in the _ga cookie lets Google Analytics tell repeat visits from the same browser apart; it does not tell us who you are.
If you reject analytics cookies, or have not chosen yet, we do not load Google Analytics and send nothing to Google.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To tell you when Meiyam opens and when the tools you selected are supported. Submitting the form is your request for these messages. Lawful basis: your consent.
- To send you occasional product news, only if you tick the separate, optional box. We never tick it for you. Lawful basis: your consent.
- To deliver the website and protect it from attacks and abuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, available website.
- To count visits, see which pages are read and how people find the site, and count register-interest submissions, so that we can improve the site. Only if you accept analytics cookies. Lawful basis: your consent.
We do not send a confirmation email when you register.
We do not link analytics data to your registration or use it for advertising.
Where we store your data, and who processes it
- We store registrations with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the EU (Ireland).
- We use AWS to deliver the website from locations worldwide and to protect it. To do this, AWS processes IP addresses and request data for us.
- We handle email sent to privacy@meiyam.com or to our security address with Microsoft 365.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes Google Analytics data for us, including in the United States.
AWS, Microsoft and Google process this data for us as our processors, under contract.
AWS delivers the site for us from locations worldwide, and Google processes analytics data in the United States, so our providers may process your personal data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards in our agreements with them, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Within AM DevOps, only staff who need your data to respond to you or to run the website can access it.
How long we keep it
- We delete your registration automatically about 12 months after your most recent submission, or sooner if you ask us or unsubscribe. Our backups keep deleted records for up to 35 days.
- We do not keep a full log of visits to the website.
- AWS WAF keeps a sample of website requests for us, for up to 3 hours.
- We replace the aws-waf-token cookie after one hour, when the browser check runs again.
- We log whether each form submission succeeded and which fields it contained, never the values you entered.
- We keep Google Analytics visit data linked to the _ga identifier for no more than 2 months after your most recent visit. Google deletes expired data for us once a month, so it can take up to a month longer to go. We keep reports of totals, such as visits per page per day; they do not identify anyone.
- The _ga and _ga_GY2G514BWW cookies expire 12 months after your most recent visit, and we delete them when you withdraw consent.
- We keep your cookie choice in your browser for 12 months.
If you submit the form again
A later submission with the same email address does not change the details you gave before. It can withdraw your consent to product news, but it cannot give it. To change your details, email privacy@meiyam.com.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it erased;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to how we use it;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it. For analytics cookies, use Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
To use any of these rights, or to unsubscribe, email privacy@meiyam.com.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to address your concern first.
